We don’t do as good of a job at marketing our own business as we could; like many small businesses, we spend most of our time working on projects and building awesome things for our clients.

So let’s take a minute and recap some of the launches we’ve had over the past few months and the impact they’re making.

Silver Branch Brewing Company

Starting a new business is incredibly exciting, especially when it’s one based on passion and love of what you do.

When Silver Branch Brewing co-founders Brett Robison and Christian Layke approached us to help design and develop the web assets for their new brewing business, we were happy to help. (Not only because we know Brett as the former bar manager of Republic, our neighbor in Takoma Park, but because Forrest and I both enjoy craft beer.)

In order to help promote their new taproom and biergarten coming to Silver Spring, we designed and developed their initial landing page and blog – with the full website scheduled for release shortly before the brewery opens.

BidPal Becomes OneCause

Rebranding is a big, big project.

There’s a lot of moving pieces, a lot of people who need to be involved in the process, and a lot of promotion and education around it.

Our partners at BidPal decided to rebrand the company as OneCause because it’s “more reflective of our expanded approach to the products and service we now offer.” With a new logo and brand styles came the need for a new website.

Similarly to how we rebranded from Junger Media to Digital Ink, the new OneCause website is built upon the old website, but needed many changes to be consistent with the new brand. We flew out to the company’s Indianapolis headquarters for the transition, working hand-in-hand with the marketing team to plan and launch the updated website.

The new brand has been positively received, and we were able to use the rebranding as an opportunity to freshen up the site’s code and streamline it with the new branding.

Fanspeak On the Clock Live!

The NFL Draft has quickly become the most popular offseason activity for millions of football fans, and our partners at Fanspeak have become the go-to resource for simulating how it all plays out.

When we built the first On the Clock NFL Mock Draft Simulator for Fanspeak in 2014, I had no idea how popular it would become.

Each year, siblings Megan and Steve Shoup have improved the experience for their users, with new features like trading, versions with limited advertising, and integration with their other simulators.

This draft season, nearly 1.5 million mock drafts were simulated with On the Clock. It’s unbelievable.

For the 2018 Draft, we built a brand new simulator to use during the actual draft — On the Clock Live! Rather than simply simulating the draft before it happens, On the Clock Live! allowed users to mock during the actual draft, with teams picking their actual players and trades happening in real-time.

In the three days of the draft, more than 14,000 simulations were run — a truly impressive showing.

And if that’s not enough, the day after the draft ended … Fanspeak launched On the Clock 2019.

The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington Israel @ 70

This year, the state of Israel has its 70th birthday, and our partners at The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington have a full schedule of events to celebrate.

We were honored when asked to design a microsite to showcase those events and other ways to get involved.

The final product is Celebrate Israel @ 70, and it features everything from a community events calendar to an art contest to stories about Israeli food, politics, culture and more.

Chesapeake Network

We’re lucky to have a partner like The Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay, a great organization that we’ve worked with on Businesses for the Bay, Reduce Your Stormwater, the main Alliance website.

When they asked us to take a look at their community site, The Chesapeake Network, we were happy to come up with ideas to make it more usable, engaging and user-friendly.

After a months long process of re-working their WordPress site (including Buddypress), integrating their content with Mailchimp for automated emails, cleaning up a lot of code and moving to a new server, we re-launched The Chesapeake Network to rave reviews.

Restoration Services Logo

On the graphic design front, we recently redesigned the logo for Restoration Services, a small antiques restoration business located in greater Boston.

Their old logo didn’t really reflect their business; in fact, it was basically an imitation of a business with a similar name (think Hardware). They needed something with a modern look and feel that actually said something about their business.

The new logo is both clean and modern, with versions for their website, social media and across all of their advertising materials.

Check it out.

Part of what makes our business so exciting is that we get to help bring ideas to life.

Whether it’s print and graphic design or website development or WordPress consulting, we love to build and we love to create.
