“Do You Only Do WordPress Sites?” and the Limits of Your Imagination

by Jason Unger, Founder

Wordpress LogoWe spend pretty much all of our time working with WordPress websites. Once in a while, we’ve got to dig into a site powered by something else – whether it’s ASP, Drupal, or – my least favorite – Flash. So we’re lucky to have a good reputation as guys who do good work with WordPress.

But that sometimes brings up a question from folks who aren’t as knee-deep into choosing the right content management system … “Do you only do WordPress sites?”

It sounds innocent enough, right? But there’s an implication in that question.

When it was first developed, WordPress was designed to be incredibly easy-to-use software to run a blog, and since it was free for anyone to use, it picked up a reputation as being “just another blog software.”

So when I hear the question, “Do you only do WordPress sites?” – I know more education is needed. They’re really asking if we only work with blogs and bloggers – and that’s the farthest thing from the truth.

At the end of the day, many folks – especially those who aren’t incredibly tech savvy and love having ongoing website management – don’t care what software is powering their website – as long as it’s getting the job done. And that makes total sense.

It’s our job to help deliver the results and make their ideas a reality. If you can imagine it, we can help do it. For us, WordPress is the tool that makes it possible – and so the only limit is your imagination.
